The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer.

In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.

On Thursday, May 2, 2013, millions will unite in direct opposition to the attacks on religious freedom. It will be the largest National Day of Prayer on record. Individuals are being asked to pray, petition and be a voice of reason at such a critical hour in our nation’s history. Our Adventures at the 2013 Office 365 Launch

In January, Melanie and I had the fun opportunity to travel to New York City for Microsoft’s launch of Office 365. We use Office as part of our daily lives, so it was a honor to participate in the launch and share some tips with the visitors at Bryant Park on how we use OneNote for wedding coordinating.

Of course no DP trip is short on fun and Melanie and I had a blast in the Big Apple. We were also guests of Microsoft at the launch of Office 2010 and once again, they were extremely gracious hosts. We enjoyed visiting with the other Office Insiders and Microsoft’s fantastic employees over four days in the city. Plus, we had time to take in NYC’s amazing cuisine (my favorite on earth) and some shopping!
