Three Things You Might Have Forgotten to Remember

By November 1, 2013January 21st, 2014No Comments

Some people have favorite days of the year. Mine is November 1.

November 1 will always hold a special place in my heart, thanks to a few important things that have happened on that date in my life. For example, it has been four years since Melanie and I started DuoParadigms on November 1, 2009. Three years ago on November 1, 2010 I sold On the Baseline.

It’s easy for me to remember this date, but today as I was reflecting on what God has done in the past, God reminded me of a few things that I have forgotten to remember lately from the words of Psalm 77:10-11.

“. . . I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.”

Have you forgotten God’s right hand?

God’s “right hand” is mentioned throughout the book of Psalms. This means more than a physical distinction. My apologies to any lefties in our readership, but the right hand is synonymous with strength, might, and power.

How many times do we forget about God’s power and His might? We talk about how big our God is, but often we forget that fact when it comes to our problems. This is easy to do when you are running your own business or non-profit organization. Each and every time we fret about things outside of our control we are forgetting something important. We are forgetting that we are cared for by the One who can even hold the sun, moon, stars, and planets in place.

Have you forgotten the works of the Lord?

Are you prone to forget what God has done in your life? I know that I am. Far too many days I have bouts of extreme spiritual short-term memory loss.

Our goal should be to remember the works of the Lord and keep those things close to our hearts and minds. After all, our God was the same yesterday, is the same today, and will be the same tomorrow. What He did in the past in the life of your organization, He can do once again in the future.

Have you forgotten God’s wonders of old?

Never forget the wonders of God and the greatest gift He gave you on Calvary. Take time to thank Him regularly for the gift of His Word, the gift of life, and the gift of being born in a free nation where you can start your own business. We serve a miracle working God….and never forget what He has done just for you.

As I start this new twelve-month period leading up to November 1, 2014, my prayer is simple. I hope you will join me in it.

Lord, help me to remember.
